Jr. Backend Developer

The role

We are looking for a Junior Backend Developer to join our engineering team and help us build and maintain backend services that power our platform.

You will work closely with senior engineers and the CTO, contributing to APIs, data processing pipelines, and infrastructure-backed services. This is a hands-on role where you will learn how production systems are built, deployed, and operated at scale.


What you will do

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js
  • Work with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL and MongoDB)
  • Build and consume internal and external APIs
  • Write clean, readable, and well-tested code
  • Help debug production issues and improve system reliability
  • Learn how our services run in Docker and Kubernetes
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to ship features end-to-end

Must-have requirements

  • Basic experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and Node.js
  • Understanding of REST APIs and backend fundamentals
  • Some experience working with databases (SQL or NoSQL)
  • Familiarity with Git and version control
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take feedback
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setup

Nice-to-have (not required)

  • Experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB
  • Exposure to Docker or containerized applications
  • Any experience with Kubernetes or cloud infrastructure
  • Understanding of async programming and background jobs
  • Personal projects, internships, or open-source contributions
